Covenant Presbyterian Church Ministries

And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. Ephesians 4:11-16

The ministries of Covenant are biblically centered and gospel driven. There are varying opportunities to roll up our sleeves and make a real difference to the lives and spiritual experience of others, here and abroad.

Women in the Church (WIC)

Women in the Church (WIC) is the organized women's ministry of Covenant Presbyterian Church. All women who attend Covenant are considered a part of WIC. The purpose of WIC is to help every woman know Christ personally and to be committed to extending His kingdom in her life, home, church, community, and throughout the world. A second purpose is to promote friendship and loving concern for one another. Each year we have two special “Gatherings” –one in the Spring and another in the Fall. We also have a Christmas Party.

Each year our PCA denomination makes a recommendation for one of their ministries and we include them in the WIC mission projects we are supporting for that year. This annual Love Gift not only blesses the recipient ministry, but also gives the WIC members the opportunity to learn about the overall ministry of the PCA. This also is a token of love to the Lord through His church.

WIC projects for 2020 included the ”Love Gift” called “Cherish” which was used as aid for Pastor’s wives in the PCA Retirement and Benefits Ministry. We were also able to donate funds to Mission in North America for purchase of 10 bed kits to aid hurricane victims as well as participating in the “Peter” “Project” which is a ministry of our missionaries in Honduras to the street boys and their families.

Additional Ministries Covenant Presbyterian Church Supports

Samaritan’s Purse: Operation Christmas Child

This year we started early, with a Christmas in July campaign, to purchase materials in the Back to School sales that were held by many stores in August. We picked back up in October to be completed for deliveries to drop-off locations in early November.

The most exciting aspect of this ministry is 'The Greatest Journey' course. After receiving a shoebox gift, every child has the opportunity to enroll in The Greatest Journey, a dynamic, 12-lesson Bible student course guiding them through what it means to faithfully follow Christ. Each child receives Bible study materials, a New Testament, and a graduation certificate. This program is a powerful tool for reaching families, growing churches and transforming communities. Go to the OCC website to hear and read testimonials about how children around the world are coming to know Jesus personally and then leading their families to Him!

We sponsored 70 children in this fantastic course. Please continue to pray for these students and their families.
